I Noticed the Plants Growing around Me!

I vividly remember my mother’s plants basking in the warm glow of the sun that streamed through the big window in our living room. She tended them with such care and precision that we were forbidden from going near them. Her love for her plants was palpable, and she took great pride in the lush foliage that graced our home.

I, like others, believed that my mother had a green thumb. At times, I felt a twinge of jealousy toward her leafy companions. I was a kid and longed for her undivided attention!

Years passed, and now, as an adult, I find myself following in my mother’s footsteps. I have amassed over thirty houseplants, each one cherished and nurtured with the same love and devotion that my mother once bestowed on her own plants. I make a point to visit each of my leafy friends every morning, talking to them, caressing their leaves, and even sprinkling a few droplets of water to let them know they are heard and seen!

I am a proud plant mom, and Shahab, my fiancé, finds my care and concern for our plant babies endearing. I dream of a future in which I reside in a huge home surrounded by hundreds of thriving houseplants. Who knows? Perhaps one day, that dream will become a reality.
